Leading band Chirkutt bagged the Sunsilk-Channel i Music award in the Best Band category on Wednesday, said a press release.
The award was handed over to the band members at an awards programme held in the capital.
Chirkutt won the award for its music video titled Khalash, which was made under the band’s project titled Maati Geeti.
Sharmin Sultana Sumi, founder of Chirkutt, said, ‘This is the third time we received this award,’ adding, ‘I thank the Channel i authority for considering honouring us again.’
The band dedicated the award to the late rock guitarist, composer and singer Ayub Bachchu.
In the event, awards were given in 22 categories, including Lifetime Achievement Award.
Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artist National Film Award-winning music director Shujeo Shyam received Lifetime Achievement Award for his significant contribution to the country’s music industry.
Besides, Tanim Rahman Anshu and Anika, Yamin Elan and Onima Ray bagged awards in the Best Music Video category; Mahmud Murad won the Best Contemporary Music Lyricist award; Soundtech won the Best Audio Company award; Syed Arif Al Haque won the Best Sound Engineer award; Humaira Ishika won the Best Emerging Artiste award; Emon Chowdhury and Atia Anisha won the Best Artiste award in the Film Song category; Foad Nasser Babu won the Best Music Director award in the Film Song category and Russell Mahmood won the Best Lyricist award in the Film Song category, among others.
