Benin-based musician regains freedom after 30 days in kidnappers' den

At last, Benin-based popular musician, Osayomore Joseph, who was kidnapped about a month ago, has finally regained freedom from his abductors.

Osayomore, who has been in captive in the hands of suspected kidnappers for the past one month, regained his freedom on Thursday.

The music icon, who was abducted on 3 October, shortly after he performed at the one year coronation anniversary of the Oba of Benin, at the palace, was said to have been released in the early hours of Thursday.

First son of the musician, Osayomore Joseph Jr, who confirming his release to journalists in Benin, disclosed that his father was not looking too healthy and was already taking treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

“My father has been released, but he is not too healthy, so he is currently in the hospital taking treatment. It has not been easy for us as a family but we thank God he is back home. We are trying to give him the best medical care he deserves.

“It is our prayer that everything goes well so he can rejoin his family in good health because we have really suffered all these while. It has been very traumatic for us and not a good situation that you can even pray for your enemy. We thank God he is home alive,” he stated.
