Nintendo Switch 2 UK stock tracker LIVE: where can I pre-order Nintendo's new console?

T3's official UK Nintendo Switch 2 tracker is now live

Daily Stock Update

Thu 24th April: Now that US pre-orders are open there are fans both sides of the Atlantic searching for stock, and neither is looking promising. Here in the UK, all stores are currently showing as out of stock. Hopefully there will be another round before the launch date.

Looking to pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2 in the UK? Well, you've come to the right place. Demand for the forthcoming handheld console is intense – to the point it's sold out at the major retailers.

Indeed, a number of UK retailers – despite promising good stock – are already finding it hard to keep up with the number of people trying to get their hands on the handheld device.

There's time, though, with the console due on shelves from 5 June, with an asking price of £395.99 in the UK, AU$699 in Australia, and $449.99 in the USA (keeping the price as planned while current tariff wars impacts are ironed out).

While the Switch 2 is no PS5 Pro when it comes to power, it's a massive improvement over Nintendo's original and OLED consoles – from a design perspective and power point of view. It's the device I want most this year – having played it last week for the first time.

As ever with Nintendo products, it's the games that make the console – and the Switch 2's enhanced editions are a good start, while Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza will be day-one must-haves (well, month-two in the case of the latter).

That's why T3's official UK Nintendo Switch 2 tracker is here, where it'll be updated daily, to monitor where you can snag yourself a Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order. For those of you in the US, check out our separate US stock tracker here.

Where to order Nintendo Switch 2 in the UK

My Nintendo Store

My Nintendo Store
Going straight to the source is often a great idea. For Nintendo, however, you'll need an invitation code to be able to pre-order the Switch 2. Got one of those and this might be your only chance.

Currys

Currys
Currys has a Nintendo Switch 2 listing where you can register your interest – and they'll mail you when stock is back. But that's as far as it goes for now.

ShopTo

ShopTo
The place where I pre-ordered my console some weeks ago, but which then declares stock was insufficient, had (past tense) stock reallocation on Tuesday 15 April, but that since sold out.

Argos

Argos
A UK favourite, various Argos stores around the country might have Switch 2 boxes on the shelves in the summer, but right now its pre-orders are backed up – with nothing currently available.

John Lewis

John Lewis
JL's pre-order allocation also sold out, but like with Currys and Argos there's a sign-up page where you can register your interest – a sensible idea to cover all bases from all retailers, I'd suggest.

Amazon

Amazon
Amazon is the retail site where many people go for everything – and you can for the Switch 2 too. Except, right now, the pre-order page isn't show any stock availability.

Very

Very
Very has numerous Switch 2 accessories and games up to pre-order, but the console? No, it's currently nowhere to be seen.

Smyths

Smyths
Smyths Toys has plenty of different products. Right now, however, the Switch 2 isn't one of those, despite having both standalone consoles and bundled packs showin on the site.

LIVE: Latest Updates

Refresh

UK stock remains unavailable

While US retailers ramp up for the Switch 2 – without any tariff increase in price, phew – the UK stock remains sold out. I've checked through all the main retailers and updated the main page in the live blog to reflect any changes to landing pages and sign-up avenues.

US pre-orders get finalised

In big news for our friends over the water, the US pricing for the Switch 2 has finally been reconfirmed by Nintendo, staying at $449.99 – a pleasant surprise. It clearly hopes to ride out the tariff wars, at least in the short term, although some of the accessories that will launch with the console are going up in price modestly.

This means that a range of big US retailers are announcing when they'll set their pre-orders live, with most happening on 24 April, in a couple of days' time – although timing varies by retailer, so you'll want to check for exact confirmation.

I received an email from Currys this morning saying that pre-orders are once again open – except you can't order the Switch 2 online, the email suggests heading to your local store and speaking with staff.

It's an unusual route into the pre-order queue, but clearly Currys wants footfall in its stores, with the lure of being able to snag yourself a Switch 2 purchase for day one.

Mario Kart World Direct incoming

To further whet your appetite for the Switch 2, however, Nintendo is hosting a Mario Kart world specific preview today, Thursday 17th April, to give an overview of the game.

I've played it already and it's easily the best Mario Kart in many years, with tonnes more characters, vehicles and weapons to use across much larger, more varied tracks.

Here's 'How to watch Mario Kart World Direct' – and everything you need to know about the Switch 2 launch game.

US pre-orders expected 'soon'

After Nintendo pulled the pre-order process for the Switch 2 in the USA, amid tariff uncertainty, it's now expected to open pre-purchase options "within days".

If you're based in the US, then T3's news story on the subject will certainly be of interest to you. Go have a read.

And it's gone!

As predicted, that didn't take very long: ShopTo's Switch 2 pre-order bundled options sold out within the day on 15 April.

However, as we're still seven weeks away from Nintendo's new console launch, I wouldn't be surprised to see further stock allocations in the coming weeks.

So there's hope yet, folks!

Pre-orders live on ShopTo!

As promised, ShopTo pre-orders are open. I was able to add a 'Nintendo Switch 2 with Switch 2 Camera & Stealth Premium - Travel Pack' order to my basket, at £465.85.

That's the Switch 2 console, plus the official camera and a carry case included in the bundle. It's £69.90 more than the standalone console, but it'll get you in line for day-one delivery.

Don't forget the Express card

Also a reminder that the Switch 2's microSD expansion slot will only accept the new Express or 'EX' card types. This is an important differentiation, as the old card's interface type won't work for Switch 2 games.

My best suggestion is to pre-order a specific EX card, whether 128GB or 256GB, to ensure you can download games no dramas come launch day. There are Nintendo branded ones, as you can see in the shopping widget below, to complete your Switch 2 package.

ShopTo stock incoming!

Tue 15th April: PRE-ORDER STOCK DUE 10AM AT SHOPTO.NET.

Yes, Switch 2 hunters, as I confirmed in my pre-order due at ShopTo.net story, the online retailer will have Switch 2 bundles available at 10am today – but you'll have to be quick to secure one.
