Ampere has launched its newest electric scooter, the Reo 80, at a price tag of Rs 59,900, ex-showroom. With a range of 80 kilometres and a top speed under 25 kmph, the Reo 80 doesn’t require a driving license or registration.

The Reo 80 is an upgraded version of Ampere’s earlier Reo model and has been introduced by Greaves Electric Mobility, the EV arm of Greaves Cotton.

It comes equipped with a 1.44 kWh LFP battery, a coloured LCD display, and a keyless start system and more. The scooter is available in four dual-tone colours — Black, Red, Blue, and White. It also gets alloy wheels. Deliveries for the Reo 80 will begin from April 2025. Notably, the model is available in select states including Delhi,
Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra and more.
Speaking of the hardware, the suspension duties are carried out by front telescopic forks and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Stopping power, on the other hand, comes from disc brake in front and a drum unit on the rear wheel. A 0.25 kW motor propels the scooter to a top speed of not more than 25 kmph and belts out 35 Nm of peak torque. As for the charging time, the company claims that the battery can be fully juiced in under six hours.
