18 Acres Hospitality, known for its food truck, is gearing up for the warmer months by adding a new location and beefing up its menu with even more locally raised meats.
Owner Chris Ghobrial said the regular location of the 18 Acres food truck will be at the former O’Towne Auto, N56-W39369 W. Wisconsin Ave., Okauchee, which was bought by Fx Motorsports.
He’s also hoping to offer a weekly Thursday beer garden at the site with a possible car and bike show. Ghobrial plans to operate a beer garden again this year on Wednesdays at Lions Park in Okauchee, N49-W34400 Wisconsin Ave. Last year, the 18 Acres food truck was also in Ixonia for a beer garden, but Ghobrial said there wasn’t enough foot traffic to continue the location this year; however, he is hoping that some of his regulars from Ixonia will make the 5-minute drive to Okauchee.
Not new is 18 Acres’ approach of farm to table, but Ghobrial said they are trying to embrace that mentality in even more that they do, including getting cheese products from Kraemer Wisconsin Cheese in Watertown. He is also working with more farm partners for locally raised pork and beef. That includes a Wagyu steer that he will buy from a farmer who can trace his animals to the original seven Wagyu steers that were brought to the United States.
Participants in a farm-to-table dinner at Wisteria Castle in Watertown on June 27 might be among the first who get to sample the Wagyu beef finished by Ghobrial.
