FKA Twigs has angered fans as she announced she has pulled out of Coachella and cancelled several dates of her current tour.

The Cellophane singer, 37, was scheduled to appear at the popular Indio, California festival during weekends one and two. She was also billed to perform for several dates across the United States of America in her tour – with scheduled gigs in New York and San Francisco.

However, the singer – who has recently collaborated with Kim Kardashian's daughter North on a song – has since announced that she is "devastated" but has to pull out of performing in the US due to "ongoing visa issues". Sharing a statement on her X page, she began: "im devastated to share the news that due to ongoing visa issues i am not able to see through any of my scheduled tour dates for the remainder of april across north america, including ceremonia and coachella.

"it pains me to say this because i am so excited to bring you a creation that i have poured my soul into and i believe is amongst my strongest work and i know this news impacts so many of you that have already made plans and spent money in order to see these shows."

However, she insisted that she will reschedule the dates she's had to cancel. FKA Twigs wrote: "i promise that i am working to reschedule the affected dates as quickly as possible. for headline shows, please refer to your point of purchase for details and refund information. back to you all with more updates as soon as i have them — in the meantime here are some of my favourite parts of the show that we worked so hard to create," she then ended the announcement with a red heart emoji.

Despite the lengthy explanation from the performer, fans were less than impressed as one wrote: "Again, girl? What’s the point of spending money on tickets, flights, and hotels just to get canceled on for the third time? You’ve had months to sort this out… Visa issues at your big age? Be serious. Your fans deserve respect."

Another fumed: "You do not need a visa to perform here in Mexico. Third time you cancel here...and at the last moment. You are totally lacking empathy (Which is impressive being an artist...) towards your followers that traveled and saved money to see you, by canceling at the last moment. Today you're losing fans, definitely."

While another branded the stunt "unprofessional", they said: "twigs…. ceremonia is not going to refund anyone for your unprofessionalism…, in mexico city sometimes festivals are the way we can attend performances like yours, maybe if you include mexico city on the eusexua tour, we have many venues here.. maybe we can forgive you".

Another quizzed: "WHY do you want the whole world to turn against you? how can you afford all of those fines for last minute show cancellation? If you really wanted to do these shows you could've show up with a few people in your team and yourself, we wanted YOU, in mx you don't even v1sa lmao".

"honestly it’s hilarious at this point that this is the third time that you cancelled ceremonia in mexico city, first time wasn’t your fault because of a pandemic, but last year (you never made an statement), and now you say your work visa isn’t ready, so unprofessional. FU!," another fumed.

While other fans were more understanding, as one said: "F*** Trump and this visas problems", another said: "we love you forever and can’t wait to see the show when you’re able" followed by a red heart emoji.

And a third wrote: "idk girl :/ your team should be apologizing not you".

This isn't the only move from FKA Twigs which has drawn criticism of late. The star recently collaborated with North West for the music video of her tune Childlike Things. The daughter of Kim and Kanye West, who features in the British musician's new song and even sings in Japanese, appeared in the video rocking a futuristic all-white look.

However, as mum Kim Kardashian shared behind-the-scenes footage and gushed she was "proud of my baby" on an Instagram post, fans were less than impressed with 11-year-old North's involvement.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, social media users shared their mixed reactions to the video, with one user writing: "35 seconds of being a terrible mother and influence to her child. This is not art; this is perversion mocking art."

"I see why Kanye is mad. This is inappropriate," one said and another added: "No. Sorry this is weird."
