The PGA Tour has one final stop in the Lonestar state before the first major championship of the year at Augusta National. This week, the players will compete at the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio, with the Masters looming.
Last year, Akshay Bhatia defeated Denny McCarthy in a playoff to claim his second PGA Tour victory. He punched his ticket to the Masters when he won.
Bhatia will look to defend his title but must hold off some heavy hitters to do so.
Ludvig Åberg, the 2025 Genesis Invitational winner, will play in San Antonio. He finished second last year at Augusta National to Scottie Scheffler. The Swedish golfer is the betting favorite this week as he will look to add a second win to his season.
Jordan Spieth is also in the field. The Texas native needs to add some confidence to his game and get more consistent. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley, Tommy Fleetwood and Hideki Matsuyama will also tee it up this week.
Gary Woodland finished second to Min Woo Lee last week in Houston and will look to build off that 62 on Sunday as he eyes his first victory since his 2019 U.S. Open win.
The winner will get into The Masters if they are not already qualified. However, this week will also be big for those in the Aon Next 10 to get into the RBC Heritage Open after The Masters.
Here is all the information for this week's Valero Texas Open as the guys finish prep for Augusta National.
