The Nashville Predators lost 8-4 to the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena on Tuesday, dropping their fourth straight game.

Kirill Marchenko scored three goals and one assist, while Adam Fantili and Sean Monahan each scored two goals to carry the Blue Jackets' offense. Columbus also fared well on the power play, scoring on two of their three opportunities.

Eight goals allowed marks a season high for the Predators, who simply could not stop the Blue Jackets' attack. Nashville has allowed six or more goals in six games this season.

Predators' goaltender Juuse Saros struggled again, allowing seven goals on 26 shots for a .731 save percentage. He was pulled from the game after the second period, giving way to Justus Annunen, who made 10 saves on 11 shots in the third period.

Nashville (27-40-8, 62 points) travels to play the Dallas Stars on Thursday, while Columbus (34-30-9, 77 points) hosts the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.

Dante Fabbro scores against old team; Blue Jackets lead 7-3 over Predators

Dante Fabbro, who was waived by the Predators in November and then claimed by the Blue Jackets, scored his seventh goal of the season to make it 7-3 Columbus.

Nashville has now allowed seven goals in a game for the fourth time this season. The most recent was a 7-4 loss to the New York Islanders on March 1.

Predators, Blue Jackets explode for five goals in the 2nd period

After Marchenko scored his 30th goal early in the second period, it looked like the rout was on. But the Predators responded with two straight goals.

At the 5:43 mark, Michael Bunting scored on a long range shot to make it 4-2. Then just 43 seconds later, Justin Barron hammered a one-timer of a pass from Jakub Vrana to make it 4-3.

That changed the pace of the game and Columbus tightened up their defense. A few minutes later, Adam Fantili restored a two-goal lead for the Blue Jackets, then Sean Monahan added another power play goal to make it 6-3.

End of the 1st: Columbus Blue Jackets lead 3-1 over Nashville Predators

The Predators responded well to the Blue Jackets' early goal, generating several good chances in the middle of the first period.

But the Blue Jackets were able to capitalize on a nice passing play by Kent Johnson and Denton Mateychuk to give Adam Fantilli his 23rd goal of the season. Then, on the power play, Sean Monahan scored to make it 3-0 Blue Jackets.

Filip Forsberg scored on a top shelf wrist shot to get the Predators on the board, but Nashville heads into the first intermission down 3-1.

Blue Jackets take 1-0 lead on Kirill Marchenko's 29th goal

Columbus took an early lead on Nashville following a defensive turnover.

Zach Werenski picked up a loose puck in the Predators' zone, then found Marchenko all alone in the slot. Marchenko's wrist shot beat Juuse Saros to give the Blue Jackets a 1-0 lead.
