Ceremony held for Vietnam vets at Biloxi National Cemetery 50 years after war’s end
BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - 50 years have passed since the end of the Vietnam War. On Saturday, the Crusaders for Veterans hosted a remembrance ceremony at the Biloxi National Cemetery to give the appreciation and welcome home they weren’t given at the end of their tour.
Kevin Cuttill is the founder and president of Crusaders for Veterans. He served in the Vietnam War himself. Over time, he has been glad to see more service members getting a warm welcome home.
“I am really happy to see the response, people saying, ‘Never leave a man behind, support our troops,’” explained Cuttill. “You see people coming out and doing this stuff, and that wasn’t there in the 70s. We didn’t get that.”
According to the VA’s website, Vietnam veterans represent the largest cohort of American veterans in terms of service era.
