Rare Beauty is known for its Liquid Blush, but the brand’s new Bouncy Blush might just have the potential to dethrone it. Yesterday, founder Selena Gomez did a side by side comparison of the two blushes on Instagram—and the unique formula of the new Bouncy Blush caught us by surprise. Whether you’re in search of your perfect blush or you’re Rare Beauty’s biggest fan, this launch is definitely one to take note of.
The Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush is a cult-favorite for a reason. TikTokers have constantly raved about the blush’s intense pigmentation and blendability—so naturally, the arrival of another blush from the brand was met with tons of excitement. While Rare Beauty has already dabbled with a luminous powder blush and a cream blush, this Bouncy Blush is definitely the first of its kind. Fans of the Liquid Blush will be happy to know this new blush comes in the same shades we know and love—which is yet another reason we’re dying to try it out.
According to Selena, the new Bouncy Blush can be slightly less intimidating than the ultra-pigmented Liquid Blush. Although it’s easy to blend out the liquid version once you have your placement down, the Bouncy Blush’s cream-to-powder formula means you don’t have to worry about being too heavy-handed. Even though it goes on super creamy, the blush eventually dries down and leaves you with that blurred powder effect. Depending on your preference, Selena says you can layer different colors on top of the Bouncy Blush or apply more for a brighter look.
If the intense pigmentation of the Liquid Blush is a dealbreaker, the Bouncy Blush might be your best bet. Although it’ll deliver more of a matte look compared to the Liquid Blush’s dewy glow, it’s a great option if you’re concerned about skin texture or creasing. Not to mention, since it diffuses into a powder, you don’t have to worry about it wearing off in the sun like some liquid blushes do. Chances are, your FYP is about to be flooded with rave reviews, so you might as well see what all the hype is about.
