The connection between Levi’s and the music world is undeniable, from the Ramones to George Harrison to Beyoncé. But recently, the denim brand has been leaning into its rock n’ roll reputation with its band tee collaborations, honoring ’80s and ’90s icons. Levi’s previously teamed up with New Order, Joy Division and dropped an Oasis collection in August.
The latest collab, available now, celebrates underground icons Sonic Youth with a range of vintage-inspired t-shirts featuring the brand’s iconography. The band, fronted by the husband and wife duo of Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon, were active for 30 years before disbanding in 2011 and had an outsized impact on the world of indie rock.

There are five t-shirts total, all retailing for $40. Designs include the Animal Grid print, Bomb Pop, and Dirty Bunny on white, Dirty Alien on green, and Washing Machine on black.
The shirts are printed on heavyweight, 100% cotton fabric with a boxy, relaxed fit. “Levi’s has always been rooted in music”, said Leo Gamboa, senior director of global collaborations and customization design at Levi’s, in a statement. “We wanted to bring back the vibe of your favorite Sonic Youth band tee—authentic, timeless, and made with quality that lasts for years to come.”
