Lady Gaga has announced her much-anticipated MAYHEM Ball tour, with four dates in the UK, sending all of her Little Monsters collectively dizzy and hyperventilating with excitement.

After releasing her seventh studio album, styled as MAYHEM, on 7 March, the pop icon said the “incredible response” from fans prompted her to announce a tour across the UK, Europe and North America.

“I wasn’t planning to tour this year after my shows in Singapore but the incredible response to the new album inspired me to keep things going,” she said, announcing the dates on Instagram.

“This show is designed to be the kind of theatrical and electrifying experience that brings MAYHEM to life exactly how I envision it. The MAYHEM Ball Tour is officially coming your way. See you soon, monsters.”

The reaction was, predictably, verging on hysterical, with one of the top comments under her post reading: “OMG???? THE MAYHEM BALL IS REAL!!! I’M SO EXCITED AAAAAA 🤩🤩🤩🤩”. There are 26,000 more, all along the same lines.

The MAYHEM Ball tour includes three nights at The O2 in London, as well as a show at the Co-Op Live arena in Manchester, before she heads to France, Spain, the Netherlands and more.

“This is my first arena tour since 2018,” she added in a statement.

“There’s something electric about a stadium, and I love every moment of those shows. But with The MAYHEM Ball I wanted to create a different kind of experience – something more intimate – closer, more connected – that lends itself to the live theatrical art I love to create.”

Lady Gaga’s Mayhem has received rave reviews since its release, with PinkNews reporter Marcus Wratten describing the record in his review as “bold, versatile and never boring”.

“The album is a crowd-pleasing return to form, bold in its musical swipes and crafty in the way it’s delivered,” Wratten wrote.

Lady Gaga has been taking time out of her busy schedule lately to repeatedly and loudly say “LGBTQ+ rights.”

The queer pop superstar thanked the LGBTQ+ community for its “bravery” and took aim at ageism in the music industry as she was honoured at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on 17 March.

The 14-time Grammy Award winner went on to thank some of her biggest music icons growing up, including David Bowie, Grace Jones, Madonna, Elton John and Cher, before sharing a sweet nod to her large LGBTQ+ fan base.

“Thank you to my Little Monsters. Thank you for always seeing me so clearly, from The Fame to Mayhem. Because you saw me, I learned to see myself,” she said.

“And to the LGBTQ+ community, you taught me bravery, before the world was ready to listen. You have changed the world for better and your courage fuels mine every single day.”
