EVERETT — Jackson pitcher Allie Thomsen struck out 10 batters and fired a three-hitter. The University of Washington-bound senior also went 1-for-2 with a double, an RBI and three walks as the Timberwolves (1-2 overall) picked up their first win under first-year coach Larri Werner. The Seagulls dipped to 2-2.

ARLINGTON — Emma Stansfield went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored — including Kamiak’s decisive third run in the top of the sixth inning — to help the Knights pick up a win in their first league game while improving to 4-1 overall. Katie McBride drove in Kamiak’s final run with a triple, and Gabby Veighey recorded two hits. Arlington pitcher Peyton Aanstad struck out 12 batters, but the Eagles fell to 0-4, 1-4.

Lakewood 12, Ferndale 8
FERNDALE — The Cougars (2-2 overall, 2-0 league) broke open an 8-8 tie with two runs in each of the final two innings. Karly Stewart got on base four times, going 2-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and a run. Pitcher Katie Krueger struck out 10 batters and went 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and a run from the plate. MJ Morales drove in three runs, doing 2-for-5 with a double and a run.
