The Foreign Office has warned ALL UK tourists travelling "alone" to Laos that they are "at risk". The FCDO has warned UK tourists heading out to Asia via its website, as it updated its "safety and security" page for British holidaymakers.

"There is a risk of harassment when travelling alone. We recommend you use a known taxi service; one booked by your accommodation or one of the local taxi apps," the FCDO has warned those heading out of the European Union towards the Far East.


The FCDO says you should confirm the driver’s identity and license plate matches when the vehicle arrives, share your journey details with a friend or use the apps sharing feature if available and be wary of drivers claiming to be registered with app companies and trying to pick up passengers on the street.

Apple says there are special features you and your family can use to share purchases, stay connected, and protect your data. If you have children, you can also set up parental controls to manage how your children use their Apple devices.


With Family Sharing, you and your family members can share eligible purchases and subscriptions, your location, and more. Everyone uses their own device and Apple Account, but iCloud storage, subscriptions (to services like Apple Music and Apple Arcade), and other content is shared.

When you set up Family Sharing, you can share your location with members of your family and help them find lost devices with the Find My app.

The FCDO adds: "Do not leave your passport as a deposit or guarantee when hiring motorcycles. There have been reports of rental companies arranging for their motorcycles to be deliberately stolen or damaged, then keeping passports and demanding high fees.

"Make sure your travel insurance covers medical and other costs that arise from motorcycle accidents." To share your location with family members, go to Settings > [your name] > Family, then tap Location Sharing.

Tap the name of a family member you want to share your location with. After you share your location with members of your Family Sharing group, they can help locate a missing device.
