Summer concerts in Upstate NY: A huge list of shows for 2024 (tickets, info)

Concert season is heating up in Upstate New York.

2024 summer concerts in Buffalo, Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and everything in between include Hozier, Carrie Underwood, Dave Matthews Band, Janet Jackson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pitbull, Foreigner, Avril Lavigne, and a newly reunited Creed. You can also get your live music fix at the New York State Fair and other festivals, including Syracuse Jazz Fest, the K-Rockathon Reboot and Willie Nelson’s touring Outlaw Festival (with Bob Dylan and more big names).

Some shows are already sold out or near-sellouts, so check resellers like VividSeats, StubHub, TicketNetwork or SeatGeek for tickets.

Hozier, an Irish singer-songwriter who mixes folk-rock with blues and soul on hits like “Too Sweet” and “Take Me to Church,” is playing Syracuse for the first time in his career. The Avett Brothers, featuring siblings Scott and Seth Avett, is a Grammy-nominated folk-rock band from North Carolina known for songs like “Kick Drum Heart,” “I and Love and You,” and “Ain’t No Man.” The group is releasing its 11th studio album this year.

Trick Daddy and Ying Yang Twins

Get crunk! Trick Daddy and Ying Yang Twins were among the most popular hip-hop artists of the early 2000s with songs like “Let’s Go” (featuring Twista, Lil Jon) and “Get Low” (with Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz), “Salt Shaker,” and “Wait (The Whisper Song),” respectively.

Marshmello, who famously performs with a marshmallow-shaped helmet, is a Grammy-nominated DJ and producer behind some of the biggest hits of the past decade, including “Happier” (with Bastille), “Alone,” “Friends” (with Anne-Marie), “Silence” (with Khalid), “Wolves” (with Selena Gomez), “Come & Go” (with Juice WRLD), “Leave Before You Love Me” (with the Jonas Brothers) and “El Merengue” (with Manuel Turizo). Bleachers is an indie pop/alt-rock band led by Jack Antonoff, the Grammy-winning producer and songwriter best known for his work with Taylor Swift, Lorde, and Lana Del Rey. Bleachers songs include “Don’t Take the Money” and “Rollercoaster,” plus new music from their fourth studio album released in March. Antonoff was also the guitarist and drummer for Fun., a project with Nate Ruess that hit it big with the songs “We Are Young,” “Some Nights” and “Carry On” in 2012.

Daltrey is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer best known for his work with The Who, whose hits include “My Generation,” “Baba O’Riley,” “Pinball Wizard,” “Who Are You?” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” Bethel Woods is the site of the original Woodstock festival, where The Who performed in 1969.

Sarah McLachlan with Feist

McLachlan is celebrating the 30th anniversary of her 1993 album, “Fumbling Towards Ecstasy,” featuring the hits “Possession” and “Hold On.” The Grammy winner plans to play the album in its entirety, plus other hits like “I Will Remember You,” “Building a Mystery,” “Sweet Surrender” and the ASPCA favorite “Angel.”

The northeast’s largest free jazz festival returns with a lineup that includes The Mavericks on Thursday, June 27; Kenny G on Friday, June 28; The O’Jays on Saturday, June 29; and Gino Vanelli on Saturday, June 29, in downtown Syracuse.

Syracuse radio station K-Rock (WKRL, WKRH) is bringing back its K-Rockathon festival with a lineup that includes Brand New Sin, Boy Hits Car, Nonpoint, Stabbing Westward, Hoobastank and Puddle of Mudd. All of the artists previously played K-Rockathon, which went on hiatus in 2018 after two decades of entertaining rock fans.
