Young Concert Artists has announced that Alistair Coleman has been named as their 2023 Composer-in-Residence.

His thee-year management contract comes with a $18k award for three YCA commissions to be written over the course of his residency. Selected from a pool of 150 applicants, Coleman is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree at the Curtis Institute of Music. He is the winner of two ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Awards, the 2020 Brian Israel Prize from the Society for New Music, and awards from the American Composers Forum, NPR’s “From the Top,” and the National YoungArts Foundation.

“I’m thrilled and grateful to be joining the YCA roster as their next composer-in-residence,” says Coleman. “It’s exciting to imagine the creative possibilities this will afford, especially through sustained collaborations with other YCA artists. I look forward to the many opportunities this residency offers to grow both my artistry and career, all with the support and guidance of YCA.”
