The Muscat Nights carnival at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre’s garden area gives the visitors an eerie feeling.
The carnival exercise began with the opening of the Muscat Nights on January 19 and continues until February 4.
Children enjoyed video games, ice skating, rides and many other games, while adults were seen watching the stage shows and hanging out around food courts.
Tariq al Tarqan, Muhammad, Dima and Tala celebrated their childhood memories with a concert at the carnival on the first day itself.
The activities at all Muscat Nights venues are open throughout the weekdays, while the weekends have some additional shows and events.
Aladdin and Alice in Wonderland’s stage show at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) begins at 5.40 pm, followed by its second show at 7.40 pm, and finally at 9.40 pm.
The VR stations are furnished with bean bags, and children hang out on their own while parents keep an eye out.
There is excitement in the air at the Cocomelon booth. Once children arrive at the carnival, they just move from one activity to the other.
The carnival also features opportunities for entrepreneurs. Twiga coffee shop @twiga.om is a project by two young entrepreneurs, and their successful business encouraged them to be at the Muscat Nights’ carnival.
“This is a great opportunity because we can grow as we introduce our products to more people. We are based in Al Khodh, but here we are meeting people from all over the country. We specialise in coffee and chocolate milk. Business is good. We deal with coffee beans from El Salvador, and here we are able to introduce it to the guests,” said Nimr al Balushi, who came up with the idea two years ago when he was in Italy.
International food chains, as well as local brands, are actively participating at the Muscat Nights being held at OCEC.
Other attractions are the mirror photo booth to the delight of children, the amazing video mapping show and the slider.
The special treats to the visitors are the parade of carnival characters, their acrobatics and fireworks.
There is an entrance fee of RO 3 for adults and RO 2 for children.
The visitors have no time limit, and the entry ticket covers all the rides and shows.
