NRG Radio Presenter Mwalimu Rachel has moved to Uganda following the opening of a new station in the country’s capital, Kampala.

The new radio station went live on Wednesday, January 18, with Mwalimu Rachel taking up a trainer's role to mentor talents.

She revealed that she had been tasked to make sure the presenters were equipped with the requisite knowledge to deliver exceptionally well on air.

“The training is not easy, they are confident in their skill set but bringing it up on the microphone was the only challenge.

When I was called to train I doubted myself but I encouraged myself since I have been a presenter for fifteen years. I took the challenge with humility and a lot of prayers,” she expounded.

In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Rachel was officiating the new station as she made the first live announcement.

“A new baby is born it took a team effort and a lot of hard work, Hello NRG Radio Uganda 106.5 FM,” Mwalimu Rachel stated.

Following the development, Kenyan presenter Sean Preezy also left for the Ugandan outfit.

“Been a great ride with you NRG Radio Kenya. Love you all forever. Goodbye Kenya,” Preezy noted.

The new station in Uganda maintained the brand’s theme colours of Red, White and Black.

It also maintained its state-of-the-art radio equipment that allows fans to stream audiovisual content.

NRG Radio took the digital space by storm, giving competitors a run for their money as the scramble for the control of airwaves intensifies.

In March 2018, NRG Radio went on air at Almont Park in Westlands along Church Road. At the same time, its audio and visual radio feed became available through the internet. The new station was launched with the claim “we’re gonna change the way you listen to music."

In February 2021 the station moved to the iconic Le Mac Tower. In April 13, 2022 Former Nation FM Journalist, Maqbul Mohamed, was appointed the head the radio.
