Dimapur, Aug. 13 (EMN): The Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) Dimapur district in collaboration with Yodh-Beth International held a talk show on the topic ‘scope and scale of music in the present economy’ in Dimapur on Saturday at Yodh-Beth International Ministry (YBIM) chapel hall Duncan Basti, Dimapur.

During the discussion, Managing Founder and Director of Pheto Music and Film Academy, Kashito Kiba, said that many youngsters and artistes are growing in the Nagaland music industry.

With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Kiba spoke on how musicians should grow and sell their products to the outside world.

He said cassettes were the dominant music format, which was supplanted by the CD format in the early days, and now it is all about digital generation. He said with the advancement of technology there are different platforms like Spotify, Amazon music, YouTube and many more where one can promote their music; and through online businesses people are soaring higher.

Kiba stressed on the importance of understanding the future market, noting that in today’s world, everything is digital. He also lamented that Nagas ar technically weak in the technician sector with very few professional and good technicians.

He said professional gurus are needed and until and unless they have such types of professionals, the music industry will not grow.

Kiba said when it comes to music, talent is important for which TaFMA is really assisting the upcoming artistes.

With rich folk and ethnic music, Nagas can go ahead as the world is looking for new sounds and melodies, said Kiba.

He also advised that while composing songs, one should think about the concept of the song as thousands of people are involved in it.

At the event, special presentations were performed by Yodh-Beth International Theological College and Seminary, Khrutsolu Vero, Visano Kikon, and Rhonbemo Humtsoe while welcome addressed was delivered by District TaFMA partner, Mhonyamo Kikon.
