The next wave of tickets has been released for this summer's Manchester International Festival, which will see events taking place across the city and online between July 1 and 18.
Gigs and film screenings are among the performances which can be booked, with tickets are now available for Arlo Parks, Damon Albarn, Homecoming Live, Rooted in Rhyme, Salaam Festival, Laurent Garnier, Notes on Grief and All of This Unreal Time.
Tickets can be booked from Thursday at 10am atmif.co.uk. There are £10 tickets available for Greater Manchester residents on a lower wage, and discounts and special opportunities for 16 to 26-year-olds via the newly launched Young MIF.
As well as events on stage, there are more free and outdoor events than ever before and a packed online programme to allow you to experience the Festival wherever you are.
MIF is committed to presenting a safe Festival for everyone. As well as following all government and industry guidelines, organisers are working closely with specialist safety consultants to ensure all venues are COVID-safe and secure for everyone.

All of This Unreal Time
Taking place from July 1-July 4, this new film and immersive installation is a MIF21 world premiere.
Starring Cillian Murphy, written by Max Porter, directed by Aoife McArdle, All of This Unreal Time features music by The National’s Aaron and Bryce Dessner, in collaboration with Mercury Prize nominated Jon Hopkins.
All of This Unreal Time is presented as an immersive installation in surround sound at Manchester Central.
Arlo Parks
One of the country’s hottest new acts, Arlo Parks is live at MIF21 for one night only on July 9. She will be performing songs from her debut album with students from the Royal Northern College of Music.
A huge hit album, winner of Best Breakthrough Artist at this year's Brit Awards and a sell-out US tour: Arlo Parks is going places – and is coming to Manchester for this one-off Festival special. Don’t miss her largest headline show to date.
Damon Albarn
Accompanied by a band and string quartet, Damon Albarn will be performing on July 13. Alongside tracks from across his extensive songbook, the concert will also include new songs from his latest project The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows. With a history of collaboration with the Festival since its inception, this rare live appearance by Albarn is not to be missed.
Homecoming Live
The most exciting music from Africa, the diaspora and beyond can be enjoyed on July 17 in Homecoming Live, celebrating African cultural exchange and youth empowerment. Nigerian Afrorave star and musician Rema will headline alongside hotly tipped Afrobeats artist Midas the Jagaban , Manchester producer and DJ Anz with Julie Adenuga hosting.
The show will take place at Manchester Central and will also be broadcast live on the night at mif.co.uk. This is the first event in a long-term relationship with Homecoming, a cultural exchange between Nigeria and Manchester with events leading up and at The Factory, the landmark cultural space that will be the future home of MIF.
Rooted in Rhyme
MIF teams up with Unity Radio and Manchester Hip Hop Archive on July 10 to bring you the present and future of hip hop – live at MIF21. Rooted in Rhyme will be a journey deep into Manchester’s Hip Hop underground with DJ Semtex, SVMI, Lady Ice, Culps, Rago Loco and Victoria Jane, among the city’s most dynamic emerging acts, plus special guests.
There'll also be DJ sets from DJ G-A-Z – Best DJ at the Urban Music Awards 2020 – and Unity’s DJ Basha.
MIF X Salaam Festival
A triple-bill of brilliant live acts come together on July 14 for this mini-festival, presented in partnership with Manchester’s new celebration of Islamic art and culture. Singer Abi Sampa , kora virtuoso Sona Jobarteh and poet Muneera Williams headline this special event, which is a sneak peak of Salaam Festival taking place in Manchester in summer 2022 – bringing together music, film, visual art, dance and much more.
Laurent Garnier
From hip hop to dance, Techno pioneer and Haçienda legend Laurent Garnier joins MIF for the UK premiere of Off the Record on July 11 - a Gabin Rivoire film about club culture, and the part that Garnier played in it over an extraordinary 30-year career. Both Laurent and Gabin will be in conversation in a post-screening Q&A with two fellow former Haçienda DJs, Dave Haslam and Jon Dasilva.
Notes on Grief
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s powerful reflection on family, love and loss journeys from page to stage between July 5 and 17. Director Rae McKen takes Adichie’s words and transfers them to the stage in this new production of Notes on Grief : a space for those who have experienced loss to gather and reflect, and a powerful and timely MIF21 world premiere.
