Billy Bob’s Texas celebrates yearlong 40th anniversary

Thomas Rhett, Miranda Lambert, Justin Moore and others lined up

Billy Bob’s Texas has planned a yearlong 40th anniversary celebration with some of the biggest names in country music gracing its stage in 2021. As Texas fully reopens, Thomas Rhett, Miranda Lambert, Justin Moore and others are booking shows at the Fort Worth staple over the next few months.

It all kicks off with the high-energy of Shane Smith & The Saints on March 5th, followed up by the retro, yet modern sounds of Charley Crockett on March 6th, Koe Wetzel & Hardy on March 10th and 14th, Aaron Lewis on March 12th, country rocker Kip Moore on March 13th, The Steel Woods on Mar 18th, Stoney Larue on March 19th, Easton Corbin on March 20th, and Samantha Fish on March 26th. Hitmaker Justin Moore will wrap up the month on March 27th with a mixture of twang and southern rock influence that is guaranteed to have fans on their feet.

Larry, Steve and Rudy: The Gatlin Brothers perform on April 1st followed by Hank Williams Jr on April 2nd and 3rd. Midland is headlining three shows April 8-10th with Dwight Yoakam to follow April 15-17th. Miranda Lambert has sold out three shows in late April and is back for two more on May 1st and 2nd, which are likely to sell out as well.

Thomas Rhett just announced he’s headlining three dates May 6-8th, and Jon Pardi has two scheduled for October 9th and 10th.

Joe Nichols, Jimmie Allen, Shenandoah, Collin Raye, Ted Nugent and others are also lined up with more to be added.

Artists placing their hands in cement has been a tradition at Billy Bob’s for more than two decades. Many of the club’s showcased artists have been honored with various awards and accolades. For some, however, their favorite honor is being part of what is now known as Billy Bob’s Wall of Fame. Patrons can visit the Wall of Fame and see the handprints and autographs of Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and even Ringo Starr to name a few. Many fans enjoy comparing their hand size to celebrities.

Located in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District, the 100,000 square foot cattle barn became Billy Bob’s Texas in 1981. Since then more than 17 million visitors have enjoyed live entertainment and real bull riding at “The World’s Largest Honky Tonk.”

The facility can hold 6,000 rowdy patrons on a given night and has been host to hundreds of musical acts, from Alan Jackson to ZZ Top. On Fridays and Saturdays, the venue also features live bull riding – a step up from the mechanical variety. It seems like an unlikely source for a series that has sold millions of albums.

Billy Bob’s has been named the Country Music Club of the Year 10 times by the Academy of Country Music.
