  • Z@P is releasing an EP on Cabaret Recordings. The three-track Mayday is the Uruguayan producer's debut on label, which has become a key outlet for stripped-back, sci-fi techno and house in recent years. There is currently no firm release date, but you can expect Mayday to be a vinyl-only release. It's the label's second time hosting a Uruguayan producer, following on from Omar's Give Me No Dame EP from late 2017. Z@P also recently helped launch Phonotheque's in-house label with Phonotools Vol. 1, an EP that captures the sound of the club behind Montevideo's blossoming crew of producers and DJs. Although he's been releasing music since 2005, Z@P connected with a wider audience after 2016 when he made standout appearances on scene-leading European labels like Traffic and Melliflow. Learn more about Phonotheque and Uruguay's new school of DJs and producers in Matt Unicomb's 2017 feature on the underground sound of Montevideo. Listen to snippets from Mayday.
