Famous for songs like Hot in Here and Dilemma, American rapper Nelly is all set to perform in Saudi Arabia next month, reported The Washington Post.

The concert will be held on December 14 in Jeddah, where the rapper will perform alongside Algerian singer Cheb Khaled. This is probably one of the biggest event in the country as there has always been a strict restriction against musical performances in Saudi Arabia.

Changes in the Saudi kingdom brought by the 32-year-old Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have, however, allowed for more leisure activities.

What's not so surprising is that the tickets - which cost approximately $120 - are only available for men, making it an all-male concert. Female fans of the rap-star took to Instagram and Twitter, stating how the policy to have a "male-only event" was absurd.

Others mentioned that Nelly had been previously accused of sexual assault and pleaded guilty to marijuana possession back in 2015.

Nelly is not the first American singer to appear in Saudi Arabia though. Earlier this year, Toby Keith also performed at a sold-out male-only concert in Riyadh. He mentioned that he had been given strict orders to not sing songs about alcohol, drugs and sex. The singer said, "There were only four or five things that I could play that were famous."

Nelly, who is also known for songs promoting drinking, drug abuse and provocative women, may face the same problem in the Saudi kingdom. His representatives haven't responded to any such comment yet.
