Friday, 20 October 2017 Written by Jon Stickler

The Gentle Good, aka Gareth Bonello, has won the Welsh Music Prize for 'Ruins/Adfeilion'.

The Cardiff singer-songwriter saw off competition from Baby Queens, Bendith, Cotton Wolf, Georgia Ruth, Gruff Rhys, H Hawkline, HMS Morris, Kelly Lee Owens, Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard, Sweet Baboo and Toby Hay to succeed last year’s winner, Meilyr Jones, who took home the gong for his debut solo album, '2013'.

Bonello accepted the award from Huw Stephens at Milk and Sugar in the Old Library, Cardiff.
