Indoor air show

North Penn High School: The Model Aviation Club at NPHS will host its annual indoor model aircraft Fun-Fly event 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 17 in the gymnasium at 1340 Valley Forge Road, Towamencin. Participants are required to bring their own aircraft to fly at this event (no aircraft will be provided). Planes, helis and smaller quadrotors are welcome. Participants may register at the event. A $10 donation will allow adults to fly their devices all day, and children under 18 can fly for free. This year’s food sales proceeds will benefit the North Penn School District Educational Foundation. Spectators are invited to try their hand at the flight simulators at no charge.

Academy of Music: Join “Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles” as they celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of The “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” album. Ursinus College: “Clybourne Park” tracks the resistance to change that happens when a racially segregated neighborhood becomes integrated, both in the 1950s and today. ‘Great Escape’

Fort Mifflin: From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 25 Fort Mifflin becomes German Salag Fort Schlamm Insel (Fort Mud Island) on the banks of the River Warter in Posen, Prussia (modern-day Poland). Dedicated to the struggles of Allied prisoners of war during World War II, come see how soldiers continued their war behind bars as they planned escapes, disrupted the Nazi war machine and played psychological games with their guards – all while trying to make life as comfortable as possible. There will be opportunities for you to assist the Allied soldiers in escape preparations and activities. Also check out displays of vintage and reproduction gear, equipment and military furnishings. Here comes spring

Pennypack Trail: March 20 will be an Audubon Bird Town Bird Walk. Meet at the Terwood and Welsh Road parking lot. Bring binoculars if you have them. Norristown Farm Park: During a spring program on March 20 children will hear a story about spring and make a craft to celebrate. After the indoor portion of the program they will venture outdoors with the park naturalist to look for the signs of spring. Meet in the Salt Wing of the barn, adjacent to the park office at Barley Sheaf Drive and Germantown Pike, East Norriton. This event is appropriate for ages 3 and older with an adult. Green Lane Park: The park will offer the program entitled “Color Your Eggs Naturally” at 1 p.m. March 24. Bring up to a dozen hard-boiled eggs and experiment with colors from nature’s palette. Glencairn Museum: A pysanky Ukrainian painted Easter egg workshops for ages 16 and up are held 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. March 24. ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks: The Fly Fishing Film Tour returns March 20-21, starting at 7:30 each evening, to 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem. Guests are invited to arrive starting at 6 p.m. to enjoy an Anglers’ Happy Hour with food and beverages from the ArtsQuest Center’s Mike & Ike Bistro (not included with ticket price), as well as check out the raffle featuring two fly fishing trips for trout with guide Jerry Hadden on the Upper Delaware River, and a smallmouth bass angling trip on the Susquehanna River. This year’s two-night run kicks off with a free performance by bluegrass band Woodsmoke at 6 p.m. March 20.

Rustin High School: The Kennett Symphony of Chester County will present “Potions That Create Emotions” at its annual Family Concert at 2 p.m. March 25 in the school auditorium in West Chester. Following the performance, the Kennett Symphony will offer its popular Instrument Zoo, during which children can meet and greet the musicians of the Kennett Symphony and try out the instruments of the orchestra. Perkasie Mennonite Church: The Perkasie Patchwork Coffeehouse presents music by Coracree on March 17. Bob Mecklenburger opens the evening. Doors will open at 7 p.m. at 320 W. Chestnut St., Perkasie. Basketball-fueled entertainment

Norristown Area High School: The Norristown Area Education Foundation will host the Harlem Wizards’ “Trick Hoops & Alley Oops” at 6:30 p.m. March 16. There will be a basketball throwing contest at halftime, where a handful of raffle ticket holders will compete in shooting hoops for free Chick-fil-A food for a year. Those in uniform will automatically earn a raffle ticket, and then have the opportunity to purchase additional raffle tickets along with the rest of the crowd. Best of the Valley

Perkiomen Valley High School: At 6 p.m. March 17 adults 18+ can test their luck at winning any of more than 150 baskets filled with merchandise, tickets, gift cards and services, plus grand prizes, Best of Community baskets and 50/50s. There will be light dinner fare, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks; BYO. Cost is $20 and includes 25 raffle tickets, a bottle of water and a small snack. Grand prize tickets are included when tables are reserved for six or eight. “Exclusive” raffle and extra tickets will be awarded for those who donate $20 of healthy food. No walk-ins. Sleep with the crocs

Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University: During “Night in the Museum: Crocs after Dark” March 17 you can experience the Academy of Natural Sciences after dark during an activity-filled sleepover. Selma Mansion: From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 18 the Norristown Preservation Society will host their annual Spring Craft Fair at 1301 West Airy St., Norristown. Shop for gifts and decorations for Easter and Mother’s Day, such as jewelry, candles, homemade items, candy, bath items, baked goods and more.
