Speaking in Naivasha on Saturday, the former DP explained that the president would spare no expense to appease the vote-rich region in an attempt to restore public trust in his regime.
Gachagua told the residents to take the money and use it to pay loans and spend it without taking it home, claiming that it was 'cursed.'
"Don't worry. Get ready, money is coming in bags. Take it, but don't go home with it; it is cursed. Eat that money at the market. Do not mix it with the money you already have. If you have a loan with a shylock, use that money to pay it off," he said.
The truthful man also urged the Mt Kenya region to demand a hefty price as part of the government's mobilisation efforts to ensure the president is accorded a warm reception.
"If you are going to listen to lies, ask for a hefty price because lies are a bad thing. Don't accept Ksh.200, listening to lies starts from Ksh.3,000. Women ululating is worth Ksh.10,000 and clapping is Ksh.2,000. Laughing in Ksh.5,000," the former DP said.
"All that, needs around Ksh.20,000 to Ksh.30,000. President Ruto, get your finances in order and bring the money we elected you for free," he added.
For two years, Gachagua was viewed as holding Mt Kenya's leadership mantle by being its senior-most elected leader.
Since his impeachment, Gachagua and his allies have mounted an offensive against the Kenya Kwanza administration by painting a picture of the country's woes.
Ruto's upcoming Mt Kenya tour, following a six-month absence, will mark his first visit since Gachagua's impeachment.
He will embark on a one-week tour of the region beginning Tuesday, April 1, in Laikipia and Nyeri Counties and end in Tharaka Nithi County on Friday, April 4.
In anticipation of Ruto's visit, Mt Kenya leaders allied to the broad-based government have been dispatched to mobilise the region for a hearty welcome.
Cognisant of the Mt Kenya region's impact on the election, the head of state will pull out all the stops to appease the residents. During the 2022 elections, President Ruto acquired 3.5 million out of 7.1 million votes from Mt Kenya.
