Get ready to shake your tailfeather at the Gig on the Grass

Christian Clackson (Elwood) and Shane Peters (Jake) have teamed up to create The Blues Brothers Rebooted show which pays tribute to The Blues Brothers band founded by
comedians Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi in 1978. The Blues Brothers Rebooted is one of four acts for next month’s Grey Mardi Gras’ Gig on the Grass concert. ▪ Contributed

You’ll be able to bend over and shake your tailfeather at the Gig on the Grass next month when the Blues Brothers Rebooted hit the big stage as part of this year’s Grey Mardi Gras festival.

The Grey Mardi Gras festival, an idea by Cobar Shire Councillor Bob Sinclair to attract the Baby Boomer and Generation X tourists, celebrates the fun, fashion, food and music of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.

The Blues Brothers tribute band is one of four headline acts for the Gig on the Grass concert on April 12 along with Rock n Roll artist Shelley Minson (singing songs from the 1950s), singer Terry Leonard (with hits from the 1950s and 1960s) as well as Cobar’s own pub rock band, Ballz n All.

The Blues Brothers Rebooted is fronted by Shane Peters (Jake) and Christian Clackson (Elwood) and their band of six musicians

Their show is an exciting, hyperactive production that pays tribute to both the unforgettable and infectious style of soul music and a faithful recreation of those two soul brothers who donned the black hats and dark shades (John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd) and created what is now a musical institution “The Blues Brothers” Rebooted.

This high energy, fun and polished presentation features the finest soul, rhythm and blues classics by such artists as Solomon Burke, Sam & Dave and Wilson Pickett.

The Blues Brothers Rebooted recently played nine shows over four days at this year’s Parkes Elvis Festival and have played a string of sold out shows in some of Sydney’s finest venues including The Basement, The Vanguard and Lizottes, as well as playing in auditoriums right across NSW and cruise liners around the world.

‘You, me, them, everybody, everybody’ will be going to Gig on the Grass!
