Eight months later than originally planned — and now with four Grammys to his name — Childish Gambino finally touched down in Perth yesterday afternoon ahead of today’s much-anticipated show at HBF Stadium.

The 35-year-old rapper, real name Donald Glover, was slated to play the venue last November but was forced to postpone after reportedly breaking his foot during a show in Dallas.

An accomplished actor, Glover’s music career was catapulted into another stratosphere with the release of politically charged single This is America last year.

The multi-talented US star arrived in Perth via Sydney shortly after attending the Los Angeles premiere of The Lion King, a remake of the Disney classic in which he voices Simba.

Glover is believed to be staying at The Westin and will have a couple of days to enjoy Perth before jetting back across to Melbourne for a concert at Rod Laver Arena on Wednesday.
