Current top 5 tracks:

Lila Iké, "Second Chance" (In.Digg.Nation.Collective/Delicious Vinyl Island)
"This is the third and latest single from this young Jamaican singer, and it's a scorcher of a track, riding on the classic 'Promised Land Riddim,' aka 'Dub Fire,' about love and forgiveness and... second chances 😊 It's fire and a current fave!"

Rosalía, "Malamente" (Sony)
"This brand-new single from Spanish neo-flamenco singer Rosalía is from her forthcoming sophomore release, due out in November called El Mal Querer. To me, this tune fits in somewhere between Spanish and Latin rap contemporaries and the revival artists of traditional Spanish styles."

Coliguacho, "Los Saltos de Petrohue" (Hush Hush)

"My friend, colleague, and Hush Hush label owner Alex Ruder tipped me off to this brand-new release from Chilean musician Ben Griffiths, aka Coliguacho. This cinematic track has everything to love—tropical ambience, layered electronic textures, and a nice cumbia rhythm!"

Koffee, "Raggamuffin" (VPAL)
"I had to pick this tune because it's possibly the most requested, new reggae track at the moment, and with good reason; she's likely to be the next Sister Nancy! Koffee certainly has people speculating. Oh and, she's only 18 years old!"

Kabaka Pyramid, "Well Done" (Bebble Rock Music/Ghetto Youths International)
"Jamaican-born, self-proclaimed conscious revolutionary lyricist's timely first single from his debut full-length Kontraband is a sarcastic, though serious, message to politicians. 'Well Done' rides the 'On the Corner Riddim,' which contemporaries like Jesse Royal, Julian and Damian Marley have all contributed lyrics to. Kabaka Pyramid is just one of many conscious reggae revivalists who are taking the genre by storm right now!"

Crew/label affiliation: "KEXP, 90.3 FM."

Styles played: "As a lady in a male-dominated industry, I jump at the opportunity to spotlight female artists, now more than ever and especially in the specialty genres that I often play. I regularly fill in on Positive Vibrations and El Sonido on KEXP and love to dig deep into both the reggae and Latin diaspora. When I play out at venues or events, it's often roots reggae, dub, and dancehall that I spin. For my 'variety' mix on KEXP, I tend to play plenty of R&B, hiphop, electronic, soul, roots-rock, garage-rock, and I love a good, long, blissed-out, psych-rock tune, especially during the overnight time slot!"

DJing philosophy: "Play what you love and mix with mindfulness!"

Format: "I prefer vinyl (and I have a relatively small collection), but monetarily speaking, it's nearly impossible for me to buy records right now, due in part to raising two small children and tending to our little farm in the rural. SO, digital music files constantly consume my hard-drive space and CDJs are my friend in this case!"

Worst request: "I wish I had a funny story here, but I can't recall a particularly bad request. I'm also fairly open to lots of different styles of music."

Upcoming events: "Every Monday from 2 am-6 am on KEXP 90.3 FM or kexp.org."
