Queensland teacher faces off against Tai Tuivasa in epic rap battle

A CONTROVERSIAL decision robbed a Queensland boxing schoolteacher of glory in his epic rap battle with Adelaide UFC star Tai Tuivasa on Fitzy and Wippa’s Rap Battle on NOVA.

Despite lyrical bullets like “Look out boys, I’m on the hunt … because Tai’s the UFC equivalent of James Blunt …” and “He’s talking trash, making fun of me … if only he knew how to spell UFC”, Brisbane’s Jeff Horn was beaten to the punch after newsreader-turned-judge Matt de Groot deemed the Adelaide martial artist the champ.

Tuivasa did throw down some fly rhymes — “Jeff is the hornet without any sting … hand me the Mortein, let’s clip his wings …” was a standout — but no doubt Horn fans will dispute who came out on top.

Either way, let’s hope the boys don’t take the insults too seriously.
