Country singer Jana Kramer revealed she recently suffered a miscarriage in an emotional Instagram post Saturday.
Kramer, 34, shared a photo of herself holding a sonogram photo and explained that she chose to share her story in order to help others going through the same thing feel less alone.
“Today I am 1-3. I debated posting this for the exact reason why it’s a silent struggle. I don’t want, ‘I’m sorry,’ or sympathy. I just don’t want to feel alone. And I know I’m not,” she wrote.
The “I Got the Boy” singer said she was initially excited when she found out she was pregnant, but held off on “shout(ing) it from the rooftops” because she’d been through a loss before and wanted to exercise caution.
She said she chose now to speak out because she no longer wants to “suffer silently.”
“For the women out there who have miscarried in the past and need support and a place to grieve their little one lost or to those in the thick of it like me who are currently grieving and in pain, let us all be there for each other,” she wrote.
“I don’t have all the words to say because I’m knee deep in crying and trying to listen to God.”
Kramer has a 1-year-old daughter, Jolie, with husband Mike Caussin.
She and Caussin tied the knot in May 2015 and separated a year later, but have continued to put on a united front for the sake of their daughter.

The “One Tree Hill” alum clarified in September that she and Caussin were still married.
“He’s still my husband, yes. So everyone is like, ‘Oh, your estranged husband’ because we’re technically separated. We didn’t separate in the court,” she said on “The Bachelor” vet Olivia Caridi’s podcast.
Kramer added that when she wanted to give up on the marriage, she looked to her daughter in order to “keep fighting.”
“I see him trying too. So that’s why we never released a statement because I don’t want to ever be like, ‘Oh, we’re great and in love.’ We’re working on it. We’re in the trenches. The only reason that I stayed is because I’ve seen how hard he’s worked to become the better version of himself and to be a better man and be very present,” she said.
