Amazon ships Alexa and Music Unlimited to 28 more countries

If you aren't in places like the United States, U.K., Japan, or Canada, you have likely been waiting to get your hands on Amazon's Music Unlimited service, as well as its voice assistant Alexa via the Echo devices. Amazon has felt your pain, and today announced the availability of those services in 28 new countries.

South America and Europe represent the bulk of the countries for the rollout. The music streaming service offers more than 40 million songs and plenty of playlists to keep you busy.

“Music is such an incredible global connector, and with Amazon Music Unlimited we’ve been able to give listeners access to an extensive catalog with the added experience of using their own voice to hear music in so many ways with Alexa,” Steve Boom, VP of Amazon Music, said in a press release. “Today’s announcement signifies an important moment for Amazon Music Unlimited and our international customers as we continue to offer more music fans all over the world a completely new way to hear expertly-curated playlists and songs from their favorite artists.”

The company also announced that Amazon Echo units would begin shipping to the new countries as well.

The new countries include:

• Belgium • Czech Republic • Iceland • Panama
• Bolivia • Ecuador • Latvia • Peru
• Bulgaria • El Salvador • Liechtenstein • Poland
• Chile • Estonia • Liechtenstein • Portugal
• Colombia • Finland • Luxembourg • Slovakia
• Costa Rica • Greece • Malta • Sweden
• Cyprus • Hungary • Netherlands • Uruguay

The Amazon Music app is available for iOS, Android, web, Fire TV, PC, and Mac. Amazon is hoping that Alexa integration, support for Echo smart speakers, curated content, and three different Music Unlimited plan options will make the service more appealing to people in those countries that may have previously been using other options.
