Dick Clark Productions, Twitter to Live Stream Red Carpets from Billboard Music Awards, AMAs & ACM Awards

The deal includes preshows for the Academy of Country Music Awards, the Billboard Music Awards and the American Music Awards in addition to live-streaming the Streamy Awards.

Following on the heels of their partnership at the Golden Globes, Dick Clark Productions and Twitter have teamed up again to live-stream red-carpet programming from three upcoming awards shows.

The companies said Monday that they will live stream the red-carpet preshows for the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards, and the 2017 American Music Awards.

In addition, Twitter will live stream the seventh annual Streamy Awards in partnership with DCP and Tubefilter, set to air in fall 2017.

The live preshows will include talent interviews and incorporate Twitter conversations into the programs along with questions from Twitter users. More details will be announced on each show at a later date.

The ACM Awards are set for April 2, while the BBMAs will be handed out May 21 and the AMAs in November. The Streamy Awards are set for fall 2017.

The programming, produced by Dick Clark Productions and DCP partners, will be available around the world and will feature “TV-style” commercial ad spots.

DCP and Twitter previously partnered with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association on an exclusive, live official preshow at the Jan. 8 Golden Globe Awards that drew 2.7 million unique viewers.

Added DCP president Mike Mahan: “We are thrilled with the success of the Golden Globes red carpet pre-show and look forward to working with Twitter on additional shows. By offering a unique online viewing opportunity, we are able to expand the audience experience and generate deeper, more compelling conversation.”
